Diversification

Diversifying your land with woodland

Modern farmland can benefit from the addition of trees, woodlands and hedgerows. As well as enhancing the capital value of the holding, making a more attractive landscape, increasing recreational and business value and biodiversity, planting areas of woodland on your land can attract capital grants which you would otherwise not be eligible for.
The Woodland Officer at Red Rose Forest can offer you advice and support to help you incorporate trees within your farming. Large areas of woodland do not need to be planted in order to make a difference and a small number of well placed trees can still be a valuable addition.

Please contact Andy Long, Woodlands Officer to find out more.
