A tree-mendous gift

PRESS RELEASE
18 March 2009
A tree-mendous gift

Greater Manchester Mum receives an extra special Mothering Sunday present from young sons Iyke and Toby - a tree.

Iyke, aged 2 and baby brother Toby, wanted to do something special for their Mum this Mother's Day, and with help from their Dad chose to dedicate a tree.

Mum, Emm, says
‘It's a great present. This dedication will last for life. We can walk in the woods whenever we want, it gives the kids a great excuse to drag us out and I don't have to find somewhere to display it, it's already on show!'

For just £15 sons and daughters can dedicate a sapling in one of Red Rose Forest's beautiful woodlands across Greater Manchester. In return you will receive an attractive certificate, personalised with your chosen message, along with maps to guide you to the woodland site.

Dedicate a tree is run by Community Forests North West, the charity that supports Red Rose Forest along with The Mersey and Pennine Edge Forests. Tony Hothersall, Director of Red Rose Forest says:

"Dedicating a tree is a great way to celebrate Mother's Day. It's a really unique and special way to show how much your Mum means to you and is a gift with a real future. As well as being a special gift, the donation will count towards creating acres of community woodland that will enhance the local area and in turn provide the perfect place for recreation."

Trees can be dedicated online at www.dedicateatree.org or a leaflet can be obtained by calling Jess Boyle at Community Forests North West on 0161 872 1660.
