Red Rose Forest works hard to develop and support the region's woodland and timber industry, making sure that local woodlands are as important to the local economy as they are to local leisure and recreation.
To help us achieve this we:
Provide advice and support on timber, biomass and other woodland products.
Link local timber-using businesses with their local woodlands, encouraging them to source wood from within the region and support local woodlands. Organisations we have advised include Pendlewood, Furniture workshop and Hulme Community Garden Centre.
We also actively support the establishment of local timber stations, where discarded timber (created from tree surgery and essential woodland management) is divided into useable timber, firewood or biomass or composted - helping the region to minimise timber waste and maximise productivity.
