Red
Rose Forest's Woodland Products Initiative is an exciting new
scheme, which is helping local areas of woodland to generate income
as well as provide excellent places for recreation and leisure.
Led
by the Mersey Valley Countryside Wardens the scheme turns discarded
timber (created when essential woodland management work is carried
out) into a range of products including charcoal, bird and bat
boxes, fencing, planters, logs and woodchip.
These
products are currently being sold at Chorlton Water Park in Manchester
and at various garden centres in the region.
